| There are
actually two kinds of clubs Kilduffs will explore on this page, Entertainment
clubs and social clubs. Baltimore has long been famous for "
The Block " and all the clubs located there, and clubs have popped up
all over the City. Pennsylvania Avenue had some of the most famous clubs
on it's strip, and over the years, most of those clubs have closed.

|
| Keeping track of all
the clubs in Baltimore, both social and entertainment is quite a challenge.

| Merchants Club 206 East Redwood Street Baltimore Opened in 1882, the club was the place for all of Baltimore's Elite. The old club burned in the 1904 , but was rebuilt and reopened in 1905, at 206 East Redwood Street. Prohibition closed the bar for a time, and back in the 1930's, a very decent lunch could be had for .75 cents. Crab cakes sandwiches may have started here in the 1930's ( under a diiferent recipe from today ) . The club was running in the 1950's, but has since closed, not sure when. ...............................................................................
