A new coat of sliding has hidden the "W" on the old Waverly, but the front is still easy to spot. The Waverly Theatre was the favorite movie theatre for the neighborhood, and was one block south of the more " up scale " Boulevard Theatre just one block north. The entire area is undergoing some " changes " and it could be interesting to see what happens to the old theater building.  I had the opportunity to check out the interior about 15 years ago, and while the front of the store where the customers are has been converted, the stockroom still had the sloped floor. A new food store has just been built in the rear of the old theatre, and it might be interesting how the area does in the coming years.
