...................   John Kilduff Colllection   A 1947 promotion for the movie " Panic " . Panic and snowfall seem to go hand in hand in Baltimore, even to this day.	........................     When the Century Theatre first opened in 1921,the Valencia was actually a rooftop ballroom. According to Exit, written by Dr. Robert Headley, by 1926 the Valencia Theatre opened as a " Spanish Garden " styled theatre.

" Die Forsterchristi " was a German film released in 1931. Years later during WWII, such a film would not have been played at the theater.	Gloria Swanson starred in " Sadie Thompson"  in 1928. Admission was only a quarter.	John Gilbert and Greta Garbo in the 1929 release of  " A Woman of Affairs". While daytime admission was still 25 cents, the evening shows were 35 cents.

A quarter was all it cost to see a matinee of " A Certain Young Man " at the Valencia in 1928. Nights it would run you an extra dime.
