| When the Academy of Music was torn down in the late 1920's,
the Stanlet Theatre was built in it's place. Perhaps the grandest movie palace
to grace Baltimore City, the Stanlet survived only to the mid 1960's, before
being torn down. ..................

| On the south side of the Mayfair Theatre,
you can still see scars from the old Stanley Theatre. The theatre was torn
down in the 1960's and the site was left as a parking lot. The site was
also once the home of the Academy of Music. T.Paul Photo Circa 2002 Above , the spot where once the Stanley Theatre once stood. It was torn down in the 1960's and is now a parking lot. T.Paul Photo Circa 2002 Looking south on Howard Street, a gapping hole shows where once the Stanley Theatre stood. T.Paul Photo Circa 2003 |
