    Just across the street from the Century-Valencia Theatre , was a much smaller theatre at 31 West Lexington Street. The theatre went by several names over the years, ( see right ) The old theatre came down when the Century was torn down in the early 1960's. However, newspapers over the years have plenty to remember the old theatre by.
.........In the early years ( top of page ) , the theatre at 31 West Lexington Street was known as the Picture Garden. The ads for " Smilin Through" and " The Savage Woman" are dated to 1922, while the ad ( above center ) for " The Devil's Wheel " is circa 1918.

           In later years, the theatre was known as the Laffmovie , as seen in these two ads circa 1947. In 1946, it was known as the Vogue, by 1949, the name had been changed to the World, and by 1952, the name was the Fine Arts
