| The Bridge
Theatre was built in the 1930's, to replace the old Bridge and Edmondson Theatres, according to Exit,
Dr Robert Headley's book on Baltimore theatres. The two smaller theatres
had been built next to each other in that block, and were torn down
for the building of the new Bridge
theatre. The massive theatre building had an entrance on the corner
of Edmondson Avenue and Pulaski Street, but that has been closed off
and a new entrance has been made on Edmondson Avenue. The building has
long since been closed as a theater, and used as a church. It appears
to be in good condition, and while the neighborhood around it has seen
better days, the old theater building appears it will be around for many
years to come. |
