| The 500 block of North Howard Street,
was first the site of the Academy of Music, and in the late 1920's,
the site of Baltimore largest theater, the Stanley Theatre. Only the
Mayfair ( AKA Auditorium ) Theatre survives out
of the block, once known as Kernan's Corner, which also included the

| The Academy of Music was located at
516 North Howard Street, and was torn down to make room for the Stanley
Theatre in the late 1920's. Movies were shown here off and on during the
1900's to 1920's, but the theater was mainly a legitimate theater. The
Stanley has also since been razed, and the location is a parking lot. |

A ticket from nearly 100 years ago , in which my great grandfather, John Kilduff was the "doorkeeper" for the Academy of Music, which to my understanding, was quite an honor back then. |
